I went two days ago with my mum and sister! We were going to go to
Ning's but it's difficult to find things that we all like so we finally
decided on Italian. I hadn't tried Kaleo's yet but a few of my friends
told me it was fantastic. Since I worked previously at nearby Paolo's
Bistro, who I revere as the best Italian food in Pahoa and maybe the
entire island, I was extremely skeptical but I'm glad to say it was so
yummy and I'd
love to go there again to try their dinner menu and maybe a few of
their wines, as the lunch we had
was fantastic. Their menu seemed more Med than Italian with only two
pasta dishes (though you can add chicken and fish for a small extra
price) and there are a lot of American staples (burgers / sandwiches)
with some interesting sounding fruit compotes and salsas on the side. I
ordered the penne pasta with vodka sauce and chicken, my mum ordered
pasta with mushroom cream sauce and chicken, and my sister ordered a
grilled chicken and avo sandwich. I unfortunately forgot to bring my
camera ( ToT) so I'm
afraid I don't have pictures but my sister did snap a shot with her
cell of me
digging into our key lime torte we shared after our meal. She even got
a free iced tea! Service was fast and friendly, and the food was
wonderful. We all were very satisfied.
